1. A process for creating an electrically addressable display comprising the steps of:

  • (a) providing a substrate; and

    (b) printing an electrically active ink onto a first area of a receiving substrate, the electrically active ink comprising at least on capsule containing an electrophoretic contrast phase, wherein the at least one capsule is dispersed in a binder phase;

    whereby optical qualities of said electrically active ink are modulated responsive to received electromagnetic signals.
