a) placing at least two laparoscopic trocars within the patient'"'"'s body, b) using a dissecting tool inserted through the laparoscopic trocars, dissecting the region of the colon or rectum, c) introducing an operable restriction device of the apparatus through the trocars, d) placing the restriction device in engagement with the rectum or colon to create a restricted stoma therein, e) implanting in the patient an energy transfer device of the apparatus, f) transferring by the energy transfer device wireless energy of a first form into energy of a second form different than the first form energy, and g) operating the restriction device with the second form energy to close the stoma to prevent feces to pass therethrough and to enlarge the stoma to allow feces to readily pass therethrough.
