Abstract
An ink of the present invention has a dye and a pigment. The pigment is a self-dispersant type pigment and an anionic dye in which at least one anionic group is bound on a surface of the pigment directly or through another atomic group and having a Ka value of less than 1 ml·m−2·msec−½ according to a Bristow method. An image having an excellent image quality is formed by using such an ink in the process of ink jet recording.

8. The ink as claimed in claim 1, wherein the ink contains at least two kinds of dyes whose structures are different from each other.

at least two kinds of organic solvents, wherein the ink has a Ka value of less than 1 ml·
