Abstract
An ink of the present invention has a dye and a pigment. The pigment is a self-dispersant type pigment and an anionic dye in which at least one anionic group is bound on a surface of the pigment directly or through another atomic group and having a Ka value of less than 1 ml·m−2·msec−½ according to a Bristow method. An image having an excellent image quality is formed by using such an ink in the process of ink jet recording.
