Methods for treating neuropathic pain using heteroarylmethanesulfonamides
First Claim
1. A method for the treatment of neuropathic pain in a mammal comprising administering to said mammal in need of such treatment an efficacious amount of a compound of formula I wherein R is hydrogen or a halogen atom, R2 and R3 are the same or different and are each hydrogen or a straight or branched alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and one of X and Y is a carbon atom and another is a nitrogen atoms, provided that the methanesulfonamido group is bonded to the carbon atom represented by X or Y, provided the neuropathic pain is not trigeminal neuralgia.
