Airbag module
First Claim
1. An airbag module comprising an airbag and a gas generator, wherein a supporting element is arranged in such a way between the gas generator and the airbag in the direction of unfolding of the airbag that when folded up, a portion of the airbag which is at the front in the direction of unfolding rests essentially flat against a front surface of the supporting element, wherein the supporting element is a cage that tapers inwardly from the front side of the airbag module to the gas generator and surrounds the gas generator;
- wherein at least the front surface of the supporting element is deformable in such a way that as the airbag is inflated said front surface bulges in the direction of the deployment of the airbag and the radius of curvature of said supporting element decreases.
