1. A device for locating radiolabeled tissue comprising:

  • a) a nuclear probe having at least one radiation detector positioned in a distal end of a body-insertable structure, said structure configured to receive radiation emanating from a labeled target source within a limited area located distal or lateral to the distal end of the radiation detector, and b) indicator means external of the nuclear probe, the indicator means in communication with the detector, to provide a quantitative measure of the amount of radiation emanating from the labeled source targeted and sensed by the detector, c) the device including transmission means therein or thereon the distal end for use in locating the position, within a space in a human body, of the distal end of the probe, d) the indicator means providing an image of the position of the distal probe within a patient in conjunction with the display of the quantitative measure of the radiation.
