1. A method for fixedly securing a magnet in a first position within a claw-type rotor assembly having at least two opposed surfaces on respective pole pieces of said claw-type rotor, said method comprising the steps of;
- inserting said magnet between said at least two opposed surfaces forming a channel along a first direction;
providing a pointed tool; and
swaging said pointed tool into at least one of said two respective pole pieces adjacent to said two opposed surfaces, thereby creating at least one swaged portion by deforming said at least one respective pole piece into said channel, said swaged portion engaging said magnet in order to block said magnet from escaping said channel in a direction opposite said first direction.
