1. A method for implanting a prosthesis within a body passageway using an elongate device having proximal and distal regions, having a length, and having first and second members disposed in the distal region of the elongate device and capable of relative movement, wherein a first end of said prosthesis is associated with said first member and a second end of said prosthesis is associated with said second member, said method comprising the steps of:

  • positioning the prosthesis with the body passageway so that the prosthesis lies within a region of interest;

    forceably enlarging the prosthesis uniformly along the length of the prosthesis until a desired predetermined shape is deployed by rotating said first and second members in opposite directions applying a torque to said first and second ends to produce an enlarged prosthesis; and

    releasing the enlarged prosthesis from said first and said second members of the elongate device.
