A medical device having a surface exhibiting lubricity with wet wherein the medical device has a surface lubrication layer formed on the substrate constituting the medical device, and said surface lubrication layer comprises a reaction product of a hydrophilic high molecular weight compound having at least one selected from a group consisting a carbonyl group and a hydrazine residue in the molecule and a cross-linking agent having at least two carbonyl groups or hydrazine residues which are capable of reacting with the carbonyl group or the hydrazine residue in one molecule.
