1. A method for commutating an electronically commutated brushless permanent magnet motor comprising the steps of:

  • applying an external voltage to at least one motor winding;

    adapting said external voltage with respect to time, in response to a determined rotor position, wherein in said at least one motor winding, the time from the moment in which the winding current, after switching off the voltage, is essentially zero, until the zero crossing of the voltage induced in this winding is evaluated, and depending upon this time the external voltage is again applied to this winding.
