1. A radio communication system for performing closed-loop transmission power control, said system comprising:
- (a) a base station apparatus having;
a reception section that receives a slot on uplink from the mobile station apparatus;
a transmission section that transmits a slot where transmission power control data and pilot data on downlink are arranged separated from each other; and
a transmission control section that changes transmission power at the beginning of next pilot data on downlink after reception of transmission power control data, in response to the transmission power control data on uplink, and which determines the transmission power control data on downlink based on SIR measurement on the pilot data on uplink, and (b) a mobile station apparatus having;
a reception section that receives a slot on downlink from the base station apparatus;
a transmission section that provides a predetermined offset, based on reception timing of the slot on downlink, to transmit a slot on uplink; and
a transmission control section that changes transmission power at the beginning of first pilot data on uplink after reception of the transmission power control data, in response to the transmission power control data on downlink, and that determines the transmission power control data on uplink based on SIR measurement on the pilot data on downlink, whereby (i) the transmission power control data and pilot data on downlink arranged separated from each other and (ii) the predetermined offset enable transmission power control to be performed within one-slot delay.

The base station apparatus according to the present invention places pilot data and transmission power control data independently of each other in a slot based on processing delays and propagation delays required for transmission power control and places slots by providing an offset for the slot locational relationship between the uplink and downlink.

1. A radio communication system for performing closed-loop transmission power control, said system comprising:

(a) a base station apparatus having;
a reception section that receives a slot on uplink from the mobile station apparatus;
a transmission section that transmits a slot where transmission power control data and pilot data on downlink are arranged separated from each other; and

A mobile station apparatus for use in a radio communication system for performing closed-loop power control and including a base station apparatus that receives a slot on uplink from the mobile station apparatus, transmits a slot on downlink where transmission power control data and pilot data are arranged separated from each other, that changes transmission power at the beginning of next pilot data on downlink after reception of transmission power control data on uplink, and that determines the transmission power control data on downlink based on SIR measurement on the pilot data on uplink, said mobile station apparatus comprising:

a reception section that receives a slot on downlink from the base station apparatus;
a transmission section that provides a predetermined offset based on a reception timing on downlink to transmit a slot on uplink to enable the base station apparatus to perform the transmission power control within one-slot delay; and

8. A transmission power control method for performing closed-loop transmission power control between a base station apparatus and a mobile station apparatus, comprising the steps of:

(a) in the base station apparatus, transmitting a slot on downlink where pilot data and transmission power control data have a time interval provided therebetween;
(b) in the mobile station apparatus, (i) receiving the pilot data and the transmission power control data transmitted in step (a), (ii) determining transmission power control data on uplink based on SIR measurement of the pilot data received in stop (b) (i), (iii) changing transmission power at the beginning of first pilot data on uplink after reception of the transmission power control data and in response to the transmission power control data transmitted in step (a), and (iv) providing a predetermined offset based on the reception timing on downlink to transmit a slot on uplink to enable the base station apparatus to perform transmission power control within one-slot delay; and
(c) in the base station apparatus, changing transmission power at the beginning of next pilot data on downlink after reception of transmission power control data on uplink and in response to the transmission power control data on uplink, and determining the transmission power control data on downlink based on SIR measurement on the pilot data on uplink, whereby (i) the transmission power control data and pilot data on downlink arranged separated from each other and (ii) the predetermined offset enable transmission power control to be performed within one-slot delay.

A transmission power control method in a mobile station apparatus for use in a closed-loop transmission power control technique between a base station apparatus and a mobile station apparatus in which the base station apparatus transmits a slot on downlink where pilot data and transmission power control data have a time interval provided therebetween, the base station apparatus changes transmission power at the beginning of next pilot data on downlink after reception of transmission power control data on uplink and in response to reception of the transmission power control data on uplink, and the base station apparatus determines the transmission power control data on downlink based on SIR measurement on the pilot data on uplink, said method comprising the steps of:

(a) receiving the pilot data and the transmission power control data transmitted from the base station apparatus;
(b) determining transmission power control data on uplink based on SIR measurement of the pilot data received in step (a);
(c) changing transmission power at the beginning of first pilot data on uplink after reception of the transmission power control data received in step (a) and in response to the transmission power control data received in step (a); and
(d) providing a predetermined offset based on reception timing on downlink to transmit a slot on uplink to enable the base station apparatus to perform transmission power control within one-slot delay, whereby (i) the transmission power control data and pilot data on downlink arranged separated from each other and (ii) the predetermined offset enable transmission power control to be performed within one-slot delay.

A transmission power control method in a base station apparatus for use in a closed-loop transmission power control technique between a base station apparatus and a mobile station apparatus in which the mobile station apparatus receives pilot data and transmission power control data transmitted on downlink, determines transmission power control data on uplink based on STR measurement of the pilot data on downlink, changes transmission power at the beginning of first pilot data on uplink after reception of the transmission power control data on downlink and in response to the transmission power control data on downlink, and provides a predetermined offset based on the reception timing on downlink to transmit a slot on uplink, said method comprising the steps of:

(a) transmitting a slot on downlink where pilot data and transmission power control data have a time interval provided therebetween;
(b) changing output power at the beginning of next pilot data on downlink after reception of transmission power control data on uplink and in response to the transmission power control data on uplink; and
(c) determining the transmission power control data on downlink based on SIR measurement on the pilot data on uplink, whereby (i) the transmission power control data and pilot data on downlink arranged separated from each other and (ii) the predetermined offset enable transmission power control to be performed within one-slot delay.
