1. A method of polyphase filtering in a multi-point to point communication system, comprising:

  • receiving a plurality of modulated orthogonal carriers in a frequency bandwidth having at least telephony information modulated thereon; and

    polyphase filtering sets of the plurality of modulated orthogonal carriers to provide ingress protection for the modulated orthogonal carriers;

    wherein polyphase filter sets of the plurality of modulated orthogonal carriers comprises;

    filtering and passing a first plurality of channel sets of the modulated orthogonal carriers with a first polyphase filter;

    passing, with the first polyphase filter, a first plurality of channels of each channel set of the first plurality of channel sets;

    filtering and passing a second plurality of channel sets of the modulated orthogonal carriers with a second polyphase filter;

    passing, with the second polyphase filter, a second plurality of channels of each channel set of the second plurality of channel sets; and

    wherein the second plurality of channels passed include channels of the first plurality of channel sets not passed when filtering the first plurality of channel sets.
