1. A method for coating a tip region of a multipolar electrode head adapted for mounting at a distal end of a medical stimulation lead, comprising the steps of:

  • providing an electrode head having a tip with a non-conducting part having a plurality of spaced-apart conductive electrode surfaces; and

    directly coating an unmasked region of said tip with a tissue compatible material to simultaneously coat all of said conductive electrode surfaces.
