1. An electrical apparatus comprising:
- a first substrate having first circuitry supported thereby, the first circuitry oriented in a first plane and defining at least a portion of a radio frequency identification device;
at least one first electrical node supported by the first substrate and in electrical connection with the first circuitry; and
an input device comprising a second substrate and second circuitry on the second substrate, the second circuitry being in electrical communication with at least one second electrical node, the second substrate comprising a flexible portion wherein the second circuitry comprises a first portion oriented in a second plane angled relative the first plane, neither of the first or second electrical nodes being a lead, the second electrical node being adhered to the first electrical node to electrically connect the input device with the radio frequency identification device.

Abstract
The invention encompasses an electrical apparatus. Such apparatus comprises a first substrate having first circuitry supported thereby. The first circuitry defines at least a portion of a radio frequency identification device. At least one first electrical node is supported by the substrate and in electrical connection with the first circuitry. The apparatus further comprises an input device comprising a second substrate and second circuitry on the second substrate. The second circuitry is in electrical communication with at least one second electrical node. Neither of the first nor second electrical nodes is a lead, and the second electrical node is adhered to the first electrical node to electrically connect the input device with the radio frequency identification device. The invention also encompasses a termite-sensing apparatus. Additionally, the invention encompasses methods of forming electrical apparatuses, and methods for sensing termites.

1. An electrical apparatus comprising:

a first substrate having first circuitry supported thereby, the first circuitry oriented in a first plane and defining at least a portion of a radio frequency identification device;
at least one first electrical node supported by the first substrate and in electrical connection with the first circuitry; and
an input device comprising a second substrate and second circuitry on the second substrate, the second circuitry being in electrical communication with at least one second electrical node, the second substrate comprising a flexible portion wherein the second circuitry comprises a first portion oriented in a second plane angled relative the first plane, neither of the first or second electrical nodes being a lead, the second electrical node being adhered to the first electrical node to electrically connect the input device with the radio frequency identification device. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

7. An electrical apparatus comprising:

a first substrate having first circuitry supported thereby, the first circuitry oriented in a first plane and defining at least a portion of a radio frequency identification device;
at least one first electrical node supported by the first substrate and in electrical connection with the first circuitry, the first node extending in a direction outwardly from the first circuitry to define a maximum length of the first node, the first node also extending in an other direction along the first circuitry to define a minimum width of the first node, the minimum width of the first node being greater than the maximum length of the first node; and
an input device comprising a second substrate and second circuitry on the second substrate, a first portion of the second circuitry oriented in a second plane at an angle relative the first plane and a second portion of the second circuitry oriented in a third plane generally parallel with the first plane, the second circuitry being in electrical communication with at least one second electrical node, the second node extending in a direction outwardly from the second circuitry to define a maximum length of the second node, the second node also extending in an other direction along the second circuitry to define a minimum width of the second node, the minimum width of the second node being greater than the maximum length of the second node;
the second electrical node being adhered to the first electrical node to electrically connect the input device with the radio frequency identification device.- View Dependent Claims (8)

9. A method of forming an electrical apparatus, comprising:

providing a first substrate having first circuitry supported thereby, the first circuitry oriented in a first plane and defining at least a portion of a radio frequency identification device;
providing at least one first electrically conductive node supported by the first substrate and in electrical connection with the first circuitry;
providing an input device comprising second circuitry on a second substrate, the second circuitry having at least one second electrical node associated therewith, neither of the first or second electrical nodes being a lead;
flexing the second substrate to orient a portion of the second circuitry in a second plane angled relative the first plane; and
adhering the second electrical node to the first electrical node to electrically connect the input device with the radio frequency identification device. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16)

17. An electrical apparatus comprising:

a first substrate having first circuitry supported thereby, the first circuitry defining at least a portion of a radio frequency identification device;
at least one first electrical node supported by the first substrate and in electrical connection with the first circuitry; and
an input device comprising a second substrate and a third substrate discrete from the second substrate, the second and third substrates comprising longitudinal shapes with opposite ends longitudinally spaced, an end of the second substrate secured to an end of the third substrate to form a unitary longitudinal structure, the second substrate comprising second circuitry in electrical communication with at least one second electrical node, the third substrate comprising a conductive loop in electrical communication with the second circuitry of the second substrate, and the second electrical node being adhered to the first electrical node to electrically connect the input device with the radio frequency identification device.
