1. A touch screen assembly for an automotive vehicle comprising;
- at least one glass surface wherein said glass is a window of an automobile;
a layer of liquid crystal defined to be within the physical boundaries of said glass;
a plurality of electrodes attached to said at least one glass surface, the surface being in vehicle interior; and
said electrodes closely coupled defining a contact area, said contact area being a region, when touched by an occupant changes electrical characteristics between said electrodes.

Abstract
The IHUD is an interactive display system allowing the vehicle driver to select information and view information utilizing LCD and touch screen technology, employing the windshield as the platform. Basically the same LCD technology found on calculators in use and touch screen technology found on interactive video display screens.

a layer of liquid crystal having a first perimeter and defined to be within the physical boundaries of said windshield;
a plurality of first electrodes attached to a surface of said windshield, the surface being in vehicle interior; and

13. A windshield assembly comprising:

at least one piece of glass said glass being a window of an automobile;
a layer of liquid crystal having a first perimeter and associate with said at least one piece of glass to display information from said at least one piece of glass within a field of vision of an operator of a vehicle;
a transparent first electrode disposed so that it is directly adjacent the layer of said liquid crystal;
a plurality of second electrodes attached to a surface of said at least one piece of glass, the surface being in vehicle interior; and
said second electrodes closely coupled defining a contact area, said contact area being a region, when touched by an occupant changes electrical characteristics between said second electrodes.
