1. A tubular prosthesis for implanting in a body lumen and directing blood flow through the body lumen, wherein said tubular prosthesis is expanded in situ so that an exterior surface of the tubular prosthesis engages an inner wall of the body lumen over an interface region, and an inner surface of said tubular prosthesis provides a blood barrier, said tubular prosthesis comprising:

  • a tubular frame with an interior surface and an exterior surface;

    a blood-impermeable liner disposed on said interior surface of said tubular frame for preventing blood flow from said inner surface of said tubular prosthesis to said exterior surface of said tubular prosthesis; and

    a flowable sealing layer disposed on at least a portion of said exterior surface of said tubular frame, said sealing layer being expansible together with said tubular frame and capable of conforming to a varying space to form a liquid-resistant barrier configured to prevent blood flow between said blood-impermeable liner of said tubular prosthesis and the inner wall of the body lumen over said interface region, wherein said sealing layer is comprised of a hydrophilic material.
