1. An intravascular stent for use in a body lumen, comprising:

  • a plurality of cylindrical rings aligned along a common longitudinal axis and interconnected to form the stent, each cylindrical ring having a first delivery diameter and a second implanted diameter;

    each cylindrical ring having a proximal end and a distal end and formed of a plurality of alternating inverted peaks and non-inverted peaks;

    the plurality of alternating peaks comprising first peaks, second peaks, and modified first peaks each having a longitudinal height;

    the first peaks having proximal apexes and the modified first peaks having distal apexes formed by struts having different lengths; and

    at least one undulating link attaching each cylindrical ring to an adjacent cylindrical ring, the undulating link having a curved portion extending transverse to the stent longitudinal axis toward a second peak, the longitudinal height of the second peak being different than the longitudinal height of the first peaks such that as the stent is compressed to the first delivery diameter, the curved portion of the undulating link is positioned proximal to the second peak.
