Abstract

The invention provides a DNA molecule encoding transglutaminase of Streptoverticillium ladakanum, the encoded transglutaminase and the use of the transglutaminase in industrial process.

1. An isolated and purified DNA molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a transglutaminase having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:

3. An expression vector comprising the DNA molecule of claim 1.

6. A host cell, which is Streptomyces lividans, comprising the expression vector of claim 3.

7. A host cell, which is Streptomyces lividans, comprising the expression vector of claim 4.

5. A host cell, which is Streptomyces lividans, comprising a vector which comprises a nucleotide sequence encoding a transglutaminase having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:

2 or an amino acid sequence that differs from the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO;

2 by not more than about 10 amino acids.
