1. A method for caching JavaServer Page (JSP) component responses, the method comprising:

  • receiving a first request referencing a JSP component;

    executing the JSP component in response to receiving the first request, wherein said executing the JSP component comprises specifying caching criteria to associate with a response resulting from said executing the JSP component;

    storing the response resulting from said executing the JSP component in a cache, wherein said storing the response resulting from said executing the JSP component in a cache comprises associating the caching criteria with the response;

    returning the response resulting from said executing the JSP component as the results for the first request;

    receiving a second request referencing the JSP component;

    retrieving the response resulting from said executing the JSP component from the cache in response to receiving the second request;

    returning the response resulting from said executing the JSP component as the results for the second request.
