1. An oral airway comprising:

  • an elongate tubular member having a distal end and a proximal end, the elongate tubular member being configured to place the distal end in a supraglottic position when operatively placed within a patient and the elongate tubular member further being configured to axially receive an endotracheal tube for passage into the patient'"'"'s trachea when operatively placed within a patient; and

    a temperature sensor operatively associated with the elongate tubular member, the temperature sensor being positioned on the elongate tubular member to detect a supraglottic core temperature of a patient with the distal end of the oral airway operatively placed in a supraglottic position within the patient.
