1. A safety circuit for protecting a cell against an over-voltage condition, comprising:

  • a first transistor having a control terminal that is coupled to a first node, a first noncontrol terminal that is coupled to a terminal that is arranged for coupling to the cell, and a second noncontrol terminal that is coupled to a second node;

    a second transistor having a control terminal that is coupled to a third node, a first noncontrol terminal that is coupled to the second node, and a second noncontrol terminal that is coupled to a low power supply;

    a third transistor having a control terminal that is coupled to a fourth node, a first noncontrol terminal that is coupled to the second node, a second noncontrol terminal that is coupled to the third node; and

    a fourth transistor having a control terminal that is coupled to a fifth node, a first noncontrol terminal that is coupled to the terminal that is arranged for coupling to the cell, and a second noncontrol terminal that is coupled to the third node.
