1. An alignment system for aligning an elongate member during insertion into a heart chamber, comprising:
- an elongate member; and
an alignment device comprising;
a first arm and a second arm adapted to move relative to each other and extend around at least a portion of a wall of a heart chamber;
a first positioning member disposed on an end of said first arm; and
a second positioning member disposed on an end of said second arm to substantially oppose said first positioning member, wherein the first and second positioning members respectively define first and second apertures configured to receive the elongate member so as to assist in aligning the elongate member with respect to a heart chamber during insertion of the elongate member into the heart chamber.
