1. A method for expanding, stretching or displacing bone tissue comprising:

  • (i) inserting subperiostealy at least part of a displacing device comprising a movable subperiosteal element and a force inducing mechanism configured after activation so as to move said movable subperiosteal element;

    said movable subperiosteal element is configured after activation of said force inducing mechanism so as to induce forces displacing at least part of said periosteal tissue and to create a space between said moveable subperiosteal element and the bone;

    said device is configured to allow ingrowth of bone tissue inside said space;

    (ii) activating said force inducing mechanism.
