1. A method of detecting capture in an atrial chamber, the method comprising:

  • delivering an atrial stimulation pulse to the atrial chamber using a stimulation electrode polarity configuration;

    setting a detection window at a time based on the delivered atrial stimulation pulse;

    monitoring an atrial channel for a far-field R-wave in the detection window using a capture sensing electrode polarity configuration that is different from the stimulation electrode Polarity configuration; and

    verifying capture of the atrial chamber if a far-field R-wave is detected in the detection window.
