An intralumenal material removal device comprising a rotatable cutter assembly in communication with a drive shaft for receiving rotational torque from the drive shaft, the cutter assembly comprising an adjustable diameter cutter having a plurality of rotatable, fan-shaped cutting blades, wherein each of the cutting blades has a beveled edge for cutting, and wherein each of the cutting blades is individually rotatable around its own axis of rotation between a smaller diameter tangential orientation and a larger diameter radial orientation, and wherein each axis is circumferentially spaced around a central longitudinal axis.
