1. An electrical circuit for a cardioverter-defibrillation system comprising:

  • an energy storage device;

    an output circuit coupled to the energy storage device, wherein the output circuit comprises a plurality of switching means for controlling delivery of defibrillation pulses from the energy storage device to a patient; and

    a sensing circuit coupled across the patient to sense a patient'"'"'s heart signal, wherein at least two of the switching means of the output circuit are simultaneously turned on to discharge residual voltage across the patient, thus avoiding interference with sensing of the patient'"'"'s heart signal.
