b) a population of microspheres comprising at least a first and second subpopulation, wherein each subpopulation comprises said bioactive agent, wherein said microspheres are distributed at said sites with a plurality of decoding binding ligands comprising optical signatures to identify the location of at least said plurality of the bioactive agents, wherein at least one of said optical signatures comprises a nanocrystal.
