1. A method for conveying digital information with carrierless ultra wideband wireless signals, comprising:

  • encoding the digital information into wavelets each having predetermined shapes, the shapes being at least one of bi-phase modulated, quad-phase modulated, multilevel bi-phase modulated, and multilevel quad-phase modulated; and

    transmitting a carrierless ultra wideband waveform via an antenna, the ultra wideband waveform including the wavelets;

    wherein the multilevel bi-phase modulated shapes comprise a basic shape, an inverse of the basic shape, and a basic shape multipled in amplitude by an interger.
