1. An Internet-based method of monitoring, configuring and servicing planar laser illumination and imaging (PLIIM) based network remotely situated from and using any Internet-enabled client computing subsystem functioning as the network management station (NMS), said method comprising the steps of:

  • (a) using said NMS to remotely monitor a set of parameters related to network, system and/or subsystem characteristics of a PLIIM-based network (i) having a plurality of nodes, (ii) being operably interconnected to the infrastructure of the Internet, (iii) having set of parameters related to network, system and/or subsystem characteristics of said PLIIM-based network, and (iv) being capable of performing a predefined set of object identification and attribute acquisition functions in a network environment; and

    (b) using said NMS to analyze said parameters so as to diagnose either actual or potential performance failures in said PLIIM-based network capable of preventing the performance of one or more of said predefined set of object identification and attribute acquisition functions.
