1. An electrostatic discharge system in an enclosure for housing a circuit board capable of electrically connecting to a backplane in the enclosure, the circuit board including at least one ground pin extending from the circuit board, the electrostatic discharge system comprising:
- a gasket, mounted within the enclosure, the ground pin capable of engaging and deforming the gasket upon insertion of the circuit board into the enclosure and prior to electrical connection of the circuit board with the backplane, the gasket capable of conducting an electric charge; and
a ground path from the gasket to ground.
