1. A method for processing a signal received from a wireless local area network transmitter, the method comprising:

  • receiving a first signal from a first antenna terminal and a second signal from a second antenna terminal, each signal originating from the transmitter and including at least one packet, the at least one packet having a training portion and a data portion;

    setting a first set of weighting factors during the training portion of the at least one packet, wherein the first set of weighting factors are configured to pass the first and the second signals through to at least one synchronizer;

    correlating the first and second signals with a stored reference signal to determine a second set of weighting factors, wherein the correlating occurs a duration of time after the setting of the first set of weighting factors; and

    applying the second set of weighting factors to an array synthesizer at fixed timing before the data portion of the at least one packet.
