6. A method of providing a caller identification with name service, comprising the steps of:

(a) receiving a call at a terminating service switching point to a terminating directory number; (b) triggering based on the terminating directory number at the terminating service switching point and sending a query to switching control point; (c) determining if the terminating directory number has a custom caller identification with name subscription; (d) when the terminating directory number has the custom caller identification with name subscription, and the terminating directory number and an originating directory number belong to a same customer group, performing a lookup; and (e) forwarding a caller name to a destination telephone. - View Dependent Claims (7)

a destination service switching point having a plurality of destination numbers and trigger on a destination number; a switching control point in communication with the destination service switching point determining if the destination number and the originating number are part of a customer group; a caller identification with name database connected to the switching control point;
a custom caller identification with name database connected to the switching control point; anda service database connected to the switching control point having an entry for a custom caller identification with name subscription.
