1. An apparatus for accepting a biometric image for biometric identification, comprising:
- an input device for inputting a biometric image;
a memory for storing at least one reference biometric image; and
a determiner for determining whether an input biometric image is acceptable, depending on whether a degree of similarity between the input biometric image and a reference biometric image is smaller than a predetermined threshold.

Abstract
A biometric data acceptance method allowing input biometric data obtained by an incorrect input operation not to be accepted. At least one reference biometric image is stored in a memory. A degree of similarity between an input biometric image and a reference biometric image is calculated. It is determined that the input biometric image is acceptable, when the degree of similarity is smaller than a predetermined threshold. If the degree of similarity is not smaller than the predetermined threshold, the input biometric image is not acceptable.
