A medical balloon mounted on a catheter, said medical balloon having an outer surface, an expanded stated and a collapsed state, wherein the balloon comprises a plurality of outward protrusions, said protrusions being insular relative to the surface of the balloon, wherein an expandable, implantable medical device is mounted about the medical balloon, the expandable implantable medical device having an inner surface, an outer surface and a plurality of side surfaces extending between the inner surface and the outer surface, wherein the outer surface of the medical balloon faces the inner surface of the expandable implantable medical device and wherein at least some of the protrusions extend part of the way tin at least one side surface of the expandable, implantable medical device to releasably engage the expandable, implantable medical device on the side surface.

A medical balloon mounted on a catheter, said balloon having an outer surface, an inner surface defining an inner space of the balloon, an expanded stated and a collapsed state, wherein the balloon comprises a plurality of outward knobs, said outward knobs being insular relative to the surface of the balloon, and a plurality of inward knob protruding into the inner space of the balloon.
