1. A method of treating a systemic disease via interpulmonary administration in a patient in need thereof, which consists essentially of:

  • (a) maintaining the inspiratory flow rate in the patient in a range of about 0.05 to about 2 liters per second and the inspiratory volume of the patient in the range of about 0.1 to about 5 liters; and

    (b) administering to the patient, using a pressurized breath activated metered dose device, a medicinal aerosol formulation comprising (a′

    ) a medicament suitable for systemic absorption via aerosol delivery present in an effective amount; and

    (b′

    ) a fluid propellant carrier for carrying and transporting said medicament at about 50 to about 2000 milliseconds for about 1 to about 4 sprays of the aerosol formulation about every 3 to 4 hours and (c′

    ) and a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of an amino acid, a derivative thereof, a water addition stabilizer and a mixture of any of the foregoing stabilizers.
