1. A system for controlling blood flow to a target area during a medical procedure comprising:
- at least one compression member to cover a body portion comprising at least one limb, the compression member including a vessel harvesting opening, wherein the vessel harvesting opening is positioned on the compression member so that a blood vessel of a limb may be harvested through the vessel harvesting opening;
a means to sense intermittent cardiac asystole; and
a control unit to activate compression of the compression member, wherein the control unit activates compression of the compression member in response to intermittent cardiac asystole.
