1. A method of manufacturing a display device comprising:
- forming a thin film transistor over a first substrate;
forming a pixel electrode over the first substrate, wherein the pixel electrode is electrically connected to the thin film transistor; and
bonding the first substrate and a second substrate through a seal pattern, wherein at least one concave portion is formed in the second substrate, wherein at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate has a light transmittance property, wherein a step of hardening the seal pattern is performed in an arrangement in which the first substrate is at an upper side and the second substrate is at a lower side, and wherein at least a portion of the seal pattern is located in the concave portion of the second substrate after bonding the first substrate and the second substrate.

Abstract
A technique for obtaining light emitting devices manufactured with high yield is provided. The width of a seal pattern (605b) can be kept thin by manufacturing a light emitting device using a second substrate (600a) which has a concave portion (607a) and a concave portion (608a). It therefore becomes possible to make the light emitting device have a narrow frame. In addition, the light emitting device with the narrow frame can be realized by a manufacturing method thereof in which a portion of the second substrate from the concave portion to an edge surface is cut.

1. A method of manufacturing a display device comprising:

forming a thin film transistor over a first substrate;
forming a pixel electrode over the first substrate, wherein the pixel electrode is electrically connected to the thin film transistor; and
bonding the first substrate and a second substrate through a seal pattern, wherein at least one concave portion is formed in the second substrate, wherein at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate has a light transmittance property, wherein a step of hardening the seal pattern is performed in an arrangement in which the first substrate is at an upper side and the second substrate is at a lower side, and wherein at least a portion of the seal pattern is located in the concave portion of the second substrate after bonding the first substrate and the second substrate. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3)

forming a light emitting element over a first substrate, said light emitting element comprising an anode, an light emitting layer comprising an organic material, and a cathode;
forming at least one concave portion in a front surface of a second substrate; and
bonding the first substrate and the second substrate through a sealing material;
wherein the first substrate has a light transmittance property, wherein the sealing material fills the concave portion of the second substrate, and wherein a drying agent is provided between the first substrate and the second substrate. - View Dependent Claims (5, 6, 7)
