1. A method of monitoring tire pressure of a tire of a vehicle, in which temporally successive tire pressure measured values are sensed by a pressure detector, and at least part of the tire pressure measured values is transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver with a variable frequency of occurrence, wherein the frequency of occurrence is derived from the sensed tire pressure measured values, the method comprising the steps of:

  • decrementing or incrementing a count of counter beginning with a starting value;

    comparing the count with a tire pressure change dependent parameter derived from the sensed tire pressure measured values; and

    triggering a transmission when the count reaches the tire pressure change dependent parameter.
