1. A magnetically shielded assembly comprised of a medical device adapted to be implanted within a biological organism, wherein said medical device is disposed near biological tissue, wherein said magnetically shielded assembly is comprised of a magnetic shield disposed on at least a portion of said medical device, wherein said magnetically shielded assembly is further comprised of means for limiting the flow of current through said biological tissue, wherein said magnetic shield is comprised of a first layer of nanomagnetic material, and wherein:

  • (a) said first layer of nanomagnetic material has a thickness of at least about 150 nanometers,(b) said first layer of nanomagnetic material has a mass density of at least about 0.001 grams per cubic centimeter, a saturation magnetization of from about 1 to about 36,000 Gauss, a coercive force of from about 0.01 to about 5,000 Oersteds, and a relative magnetic permeability of from about 1 to about 500,000.
