Abstract
In a monitor camera system comprising a monitor camera rotatable through 360 degrees in panning directions and through 90 degrees or more in tilting directions and a control unit for controlling the monitor camera, the monitor camera holds an auto-tracing record including a command sent from the control unit and a time stamp indicative of a reception point of the command on a time base in auto-tracing learning, and reads out the auto-tracing record at implementation of auto-tracing to execute the command in the auto-tracing record at the corresponding point on the time base. With the configuration of the monitor camera system, the monitor camera is made to retain the commands for the auto-tracing implementation, which can prevent a delay of the operation of the monitor camera stemming from a delay in control data transmission.
