1. A method of assembling an inkjet printhead, the method comprising the steps of:

  • providing an elongate support structure having a base, two sidewalls extending from the base and a plurality of ink supply channels defined between the base and sidewalls, the sidewalls and ink supply channels defining a slot which extends along the support structure such that the ink supply channels are in fluid communication with the slot;

    positioning a carrier unit in the slot so that an inkjet printhead segment carried by the carrier unit is placed in fluid communication with the ink supply channels;

    securing the first carrier unit within the slot;

    positioning at least one subsequent carrier unit in the slot so that an inkjet printhead segment carried by the, or each, subsequent carrier unit is placed in fluid communication with the ink supply channels;

    adjusting the position of the, or each, subsequent carrier unit to align the inkjet printhead segments of the carrier units; and

    securing the, or each, subsequent carrier unit within the slot.
