1. Apparatus for ablating targeted biological tissue, comprising:

  • an elongated member including an elongated side for emitting a majority of tissue-ablative energy therethrough within an elongated pattern oriented in a selected direction toward targeted tissue; and

    a pair of elongated electrodes spaced apart near a distal end of the elongated side oriented in the selected direction for sensing electrical activity in targeted tissue.
