1. A method of forming a portion of a golf ball comprising the steps of:

  • providing at least a first polymeric component and a second polymeric component, each polymeric component comprising at least one monomer, oligomer, prepolymer, or a combination thereof;

    sufficiently polymerizing each polymeric component sequentially or simultaneously to form a polymer or polymer network;

    crosslinking each polymer or polymer network to the other polymer or polymer network to form an interpenetrating polymer network (“

    IPN”

    ); and

    forming the IPN into the portion of the golf ball,wherein each polymeric component of the mixture is polymerized by exposing the mixture to at least one energy source, at least one initiator present in an amount from about 0.1 to about 10 parts per hundred of total polymer component, or a combination thereof for a time sufficient to polymerize the polymeric component.
