1. An elastomeric article comprising:
- a substrate body including a hydrocarbon-based elastomeric polymeric matrix;
a plurality of porous beads having a pore size that ranges from about 0.01 microns to about 0.5 microns, the beads containing a treatment impregnated within said pores, the treatment being time-releasable to an environment; and
each of said beads has a surface with at least a vinyl functional group, and said bead is covalently bonded to said elastomeric polymer matrix or a coating thereon.
