1. A triphasic bioreactor for physico-chemically treating a gas containing carbon dioxide, comprising:

  • a reaction chamber filled with an aqueous liquid;

    biocatalysts consisting of carbonic anhydrase in suspension in the liquid for catalyzing the chemical conversion of dissolved carbon dioxide into an aqueous solution containing hydrogen ions and bicarbonate ions, hereinafter referred as to the reaction products;

    a liquid inlet in fluid communication with the reaction chamber for receiving the liquid and filling the reaction chamber;

    a gas bubbling means in the reaction chamber for bubbling the gas to be treated into the liquid thereby dissolving the carbon dioxide into the liquid, and increasing a pressure inside the reaction chamber;

    a liquid outlet in fluid communication with the reaction chamber for releasing said aqueous solution containing the reaction products;

    a gas outlet in fluid communication with the reaction chamber to release a treated gas; and

    a retention device to retain the biocatalysts in the reaction chamber.
