Devices and related methods for securing a tissue fold
First Claim
1. A device for securing a tissue fold, comprising:
- a tube having an actuator;
a distal member disposed on a distal end portion of the tube and configured to hold a plurality of tissue clips for securing the tissue fold, the distal member defining an opening arranged to receive the tissue fold therein, at least one of the tissue clips comprising a male member and a female member disposed substantially opposite to one another; and
a drawing mechanism configured to draw the tissue fold into the opening,wherein the drawing mechanism includes at least one suction port proximate the opening.

Abstract
The present invention relates to devices and methods for creating and securing a tissue fold during an endoluminal medical procedure. The devices and methods may be used for folding and securing, for example, a fundus wall onto an esophagus wall. An aspect of the invention includes a two-piece tissue clip configured to be installed through an endoluminal device to secure a tissue fold. The clip includes a female member and a male member configured to engage one another to secure the tissue fold. Another aspect of the invention includes a clipping device comprising a tissue clip magazine. The magazine is configured to hold a plurality of tissue clips and install the plurality of tissue clips in a single actuation of the magazine. A method for using the clipping device together with the tissue clips of the present invention to create and secure a fold of tissue during an endoluminal procedure also is disclosed.

7. A device for securing a tissue fold, comprising:
-
a tube having an actuator; a distal member disposed on a distal end portion of the tube and configured to hold a plurality of tissue clips for securing the tissue fold, the distal member defining an opening arranged to receive the tissue fold therein; and a drawing mechanism configured to pull the tissue fold into the opening, wherein; each of the plurality of tissue clips comprises a male member and a female member; the male members and the female members being held in first and second clip holders respectively, the first clip holder disposed substantially opposite to the second clip holder and at least one of the first and second clip holders being movable relative to the other; and actuation of the actuator imparts motion of at least one of the first and second clip holders toward the other, so as to cause the male member and the female member to engage each other and secure the tissue fold. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12)

13. A device for securing a tissue fold, comprising:
-
a tube having an actuator; and a distal member disposed on a distal end portion of the tube and configured to hold a plurality of tissue clips, each of the plurality of tissue clips having a female member and a male member, the distal member comprising first and second clip holders for holding respective one of the male and female members, the first clip holder disposed substantially opposite to the second clip holder and at least one of the first and second clip holders being movable relative to the other, wherein actuation of the actuator imparts motion of at least one of the first and second clip holders toward the other, causing the male member and the female member to engage each other and secure the tissue fold, and wherein the dismember comprises multi pairs of first and second lip holders. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17)
