1. A method for reconfiguring a communications call, comprising:

  • receiving at a call service node (CSN) a report from at least two feature control points (FCPs) in a call control path set up for the call across at least two different communications networks;

    receiving at the CSN a connection change request, the connection change request including information for identifying the call and how the call is to be changed;

    selecting at the CSN one of the FCPs to effect the requested connection change in accordance with a predetermined criterion; and

    sending instructions from the CSN to the selected FCP to effect the requested connection change to the call.
