An apparatus for shaping an article comprising a plurality of movable dies arranged to form a chamber whose size may be varied by moving the dies, the dies having at least a first configuration and a second configuration, the positioning of the dies in the second configuration being different from the positioning the dies in the first configuration, the chamber being larger in the second configuration, the dies extending continuously about a periphery of the chamber in at least the second configuration, the chamber having a length from a first end of the chamber to a second end of the chamber, at least one of the dies extending the length of the chamber, the dies configurable to provide the chamber with at least a first region bounded by the dies and a second region bounded by the dies, the first region having a different cross-section than the second region, a cross-sectional area of the chamber changing along the length of the first region, a cross-sectional area of the chamber being constant along the length of the second region.
