1. A medical device comprising:
- an implantable catheter having a catheter body having a distal end and a proximal end and including an interior surface defining a lumen with a distal end and a proximal end, the body having an exterior surface of a first outer diameter and a recessed area within the distal end having a second outer diameter an exit port within the recessed area of the catheter body coupled with the lumen of the catheter body; and
a one-way pressure responsive valve to normally seal the exit port and to open the exit port in response to a pressure within the lumen of the catheter body.

Abstract
A catheter body includes an exit port over which a pressure responsive sleeve is formed that allows material to exit a lumen of the catheter body at a given pressure. In one embodiment, a surface of the sleeve is approximately flush with a surface of the catheter body. In another embodiment the sleeve includes a tapered edge.
