1. A method of operating a mobile wireless network, comprising:

  • configuring at least one protocol entity of a first convergence protocol layer of a first wireless station as a function of a configuration request received from a second wireless station;

    supplying user data to the first convergence protocol layer by at least one user in a network layer;

    assembling the user data into at least one first data unit by the at least one protocol entity of the first convergence protocol layer, wherein the at least one first data unit is assembled before a transmission to a second convergence protocol layer of the second wireless station;

    transmitting the at least one first data unit to a link control layer via a carrier; and

    establishing at least one protocol entity ID, in response to a configuration, through which each at least one protocol entity may be referenced.
